At this point in our history, it is key for all of us to engage with the world around us (when we don’t have our heads ducked under the covers) in a thoughtful, grounded, and sometimes fierce way. Fierceness can be kind, but it is also very much about boundaries... embodying the values that are most important to us in a way that demonstrates to others what we stand for.

Embodying kindness and compassion while we express our truth. It is my hope that what I share here meets you where you are in a meaningful way such that it gives you pause and hope because there is a LOT we can do to make sure this world is still intact for generations to come… and have fun doing it.

The Power of Paradox

A paradox, at first glance, is a statement that can seem absurd, contradictory, and opposed to common sense. But it holds the possibility of being true. Some familiar examples include ‘less is more’, ‘jumbo shrimp’, ‘I know one thing; that I know nothing’, and ‘This statement is false’. A paradox can also be simple or thought provoking. When I think of ‘jumbo shrimp’, for example, I tend not to linger on the absurdity of the combination of words or how it affects my life. When I think of other not-so-common examples, such as ‘humility in mastery’, ‘universality through specificity’, or ‘fortunate misfortune’, however… these give me pause.
